I *HATE Forge! The essence textures work great with Imagine but in order to
get a decent texture out of Forge to use with Lightwave, it takes forever
to generate it. It also does an awful job with making textures seamless.
And to get a decent sized map, well... you might as well go for a vacation.
I know we don't all own Macs and I'm not suggesting that anyone buy one,
but I do 99% of my texture creation on the Mac. I use Kai's power tools,
which is FAST and all the textures are seamless. Then theirs Alien Skin
Texture Shop. It makes some great textures, but the only flaw is there is
not much way to control what you get. The render time is also up there, but
it's still less than FORGE.
Carl
